The history of Arabiyat

Arabiyat is an in-house brand of My Perfumes, a family business that, according to its own website, was founded in the Emirates in 1993. We could not find exactly when the Arabiyat name was introduced. What is clear is that the brand has grown into the group’s flagship. According to Gulf News, the more luxurious line Arabiyat Prestige was the centrepiece of My Perfumes’ presentation at the Beautyworld Middle East 2024 trade fair.

Alongside the classic Arabiyat line, there are now sub-lines such as Arabiyat Prestige and Arabiyat Sugar. The range runs from eau de parfums and perfume oils to bakhour, deodorant and home fragrances.

Where does Arabiyat come from?

Arabiyat is an Emirati brand. The name roughly means ‘Arab (women)’ and refers to the Arabic fragrance tradition. You can see that in the fragrances: lots of oud, saffron, rose and musk, combined with fresher or sweeter accents for a wider audience.

Parent company and sister brands

The parent company is My Perfumes. Read more in our article My Perfumes: the company behind Arabiyat. Sister brands include Otoori, known for bakhour and a concept for mixing your own fragrance, and the niche line My Perfumes Select. You will find all brands of this group in our My Perfumes collection.

Where is Arabiyat popular?

According to the company, the group sells in more than 90 countries. Arabiyat is the brand you come across most often internationally, from the Gulf region to Europe and North America. In the Netherlands and Belgium you will mainly find Arabiyat in oriental shops and web shops.
