Perfume oil—also known as attar or ittar—is a concentrated, alcohol-free fragrance that you apply to the skin with a roller or stick. Because it contains no alcohol, the scent does not evaporate quickly: while an eau de parfum fades after a few hours, an oil often lasts half a day or longer. The scent develops more gradually and stays closer to the skin.
